At Luxer One, growth is part of the job. We prioritize promoting from within, provide clear paths for advancement, and encourage every team member to explore new opportunities! Our Luxens on the Rise series highlights team members who have carved their own paths within the company, taking on new challenges and evolving their careers along the way.

This month, we’re featuring Ryan, whose career at Luxer One is a great example of taking on new challenges. From the Video Research Team to Account Management and now an Account Executive, each role has helped him build the knowledge and relationships that continue to shape his success.

Start date: April 2019
Starting Role: Video Research Staff
Current Role: Account Executive
Location: Sacramento, CA

What did you do on the video research team?

I started at Luxer on the Video Research Team, where I investigated missing package claims for residents. This involved reviewing deliveries, surveillance, and working with carriers.

What does being an Account Executive entail?

As an Account Executive on the sales team, I work with both new and existing customers to help them find the right solutions for their needs.

Because I was an Account Manager first, I was able to build strong customer relationships, learn the ins and outs of our products, and gain a better understanding of the challenges our customers face every day.

What motivated you to pursue growth within the company?

My goal was always to move into sales, and I knew the best way to get there was by first becoming an Account Manager. Every time I was interested in a new role, I’d go talk to that manager and ask what I needed to do to be successful in that position. The experience made the transition natural and has helped me have more meaningful conversations.

What advice would you give to someone at Luxer One who wants to move up in the company?

A closed mouth doesn’t get fed. If you know where you want to go within the company, say it. Let your manager and the department know you’re interested, ask what you need to work on, and be willing to put in the effort. People are happy to help when they know what you’re working toward.

A closed mouth doesn't get fed."

Was there one opportunity at luxer one that changed your career path?

Absolutely. Luxer One invests in their employees, and they invested in sales training for me, specifically Sandler Training. That gave me the foundation to become the salesman I am today.

Is there anything people would be surprised to learn about you?

I used to be a scuba dive instructor!

We love Bagel Tuesday around here- what’s your go-to order?

I usually have an everything bagel. Don’t worry…I have a few mints afterwards.
